A Review of Pathogen Identification through the Behavioral Immune System | ||

Objective: Pathogen disgust has evolved as a psychological adaptation in response to the avoidance of disease-causing organisms. Recently, evolutionary social psychologists have proposed the existence of a behavioral immune system that has evolved to avoid pathogens as a psychological adaptation. However, researchers claim that the concept of a behavioral immune system is not the same as pathogen avoidance. Therefore, in this study, the aim is to investigate whether the behavioral immune system is the same as the pathogen avoidance system or has a broader meaning. Method: Using the Google Scholar database, keywords such as disease avoidance, pathogen disgust, and the behavioral immune system were searched. PubMed for the behavioral immune system, system over perception disease cues, and disease over perception bias was investigated as well. All-time periods were used for this review study and more than two hundred documents were reviewed and extracted according to the criteria. Results: The findings show that there are three main mechanisms involved in the behavioral immune system. This system includes emotional, cognitive, and behavioral mechanisms. Therefore, the results showed that the behavioral immune system has a broader meaning than the pathogen avoidance system. Conclusion: Research on physiological correlations with emotional experiences shows that disgust is evoked in response to pathogen-related stimuli and is associated with unique patterns of the autonomic nervous system and neural activity. However little is known about the functional connections between anatomical structures, neurochemical processes, and various cognitive and behavioral phenomena that are the manifestations of the behavioral immune system, and more studies are needed in this area. | ||

هدف: انزجاراز پاتوژن به عنوان یک سازگاری روانشناختی در پاسخ به جلوگیری از ارگانیسم های عامل بیماری تکامل یافته است. اخیراً ، روانشناسان اجتماعی تکاملی وجود یک سیستم ایمنی رفتاری را پیشنهاد داده اند که برای جلوگیری از عوامل بیماری زا به عنوان یک سازگاری روانشناختی تکامل یافته است. با این حال ، محققان ادعا می کنند که مفهوم سیستم ایمنی رفتاری همان اجتناب از عوامل بیماری زا نیست. بنابراین ، در این مطالعه ، این مسئله بررسی می شود که آیا سیستم ایمنی رفتاری همان سیستم اجتناب از پاتوژن است یا معنای وسیع تری دارد. روش: با استفاده از کلمات کلیدی پایگاه داده Google Scholar مانند اجتناب از بیماری ، انزجار از عوامل بیماری زا ، سیستم ایمنی رفتاری جستجو شد. PubMed برای سیستم ایمنی رفتاری ، سیستم ادراک بیش از حد علائم مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. از تمام بازه های زمانی برای این مطالعه مروری استفاده شد و بیش از دویست سند با توجه به معیارهای بررسی و استخراج شد. یافته ها: یافته ها نشان می دهد که سه مکانیسم اصلی در سیستم ایمنی رفتاری دخیل هستند. این سیستم ها شامل سیستم های عاطفی ، شناختی و رفتاری هستند. نتیجه گیری: تحقیقات در مورد ارتباطات فیزیولوژیکی با تجربیات عاطفی نشان می دهد که انزجار در پاسخ به محرکهای مرتبط با پاتوژن برانگیخته می شود و با الگوهای منحصر به فرد فعالیت سیستم عصبی خودمختار و فعالیت عصبی همراه است. اما اطلاعات کمی در مورد ارتباطات عملکردی بین ساختارهای آناتومیکی ، فرایندهای عصبی شیمیایی و پدیده های مختلف شناختی و رفتاری که مظاهر سیستم ایمنی رفتاری هستند ، وجود دارد و مطالعات بیشتری در این زمینه مورد نیاز است. | ||
